Abstract
This is to report a case of huge compound odontoma with severe cellulitis occurred extensively in the bilateral sublingual and right submandibular region. A 63 years male patient was first treated by the incision and drainage. After the infection was subsided, enucleation and packing were performed, so the mass enucleated was examined microscopically.
The result was as follows,
1. This case was under the impression to be Cellulitis, but we could found the huge irregular radiopaque mass as like an odontoma in extraoral radiogram.
2. This case was first treated by incision and drainage with massive antibiotics therapy because Cellulitis was severely propagated in bilateral sublingual and right submandibular area.
3. The section consists of dental tissues arranged haphazardly and not in the form of a tooth. The dense portion composing the bulk of the section is a mixture of dentin material. And some connective tissues area contained the inflammatory cells and delated blood vessels.
4. The postoperative process showed no recurrence iwithcit any complications or sequelae by this time, and the postoperative profile has slowly become better.
